NOTICE – The next meeting of the BRRC Club will be Tuesday, June 6th at the Greenwell Springs Road Library at 7 PM.

President Bob McMillan called the meeting to order at 7 PM.

Bob asked the Secretary to read the minutes from our March meeting.  The minutes were read and approved by all members present.

Bob then asked our Treasurer for a report on our financial status.  B. C. presented his report and all members present approved it.

Blackie was asked for a field committee report.  He stated that the field was in good condition but that it has been too windy to fly.  He advised that the roof on each outhouse have been repaired.  He also advised that he purchased a new weed eater.
Safety committee chairman Mike Goetzman said that he did not have any events to report.  He did say that a recent article in the AMA publication stated that you needed to have at least 6 flights on a plane before it should be flown in an event.

OLD BUSINESS:
Charlie advised the fuel has arrived and that he has about 33 gallons available.

Vic advised that he has caps available.

EVENTS:
Blackie reminded us that the CUB day is scheduled for this coming Saturday.  He reminded us that we need to bring our own drinks and asked the ladies to bring a desert of their choice.

Vic advised that his family day fly in is scheduled for May 6.  He said everything is scheduled and ready to go.

George said that he has received the sanction from AMA for his event scheduled in October.

Bob advised the club charter has been received from AMA and the insurance certificate has been delivered to the Kissner’s.

NEW BUSINESS:
Mike stated that he is working on our next ladies night out.  He is looking at a date in June and will advise as plans come together.

Glenn Darce moved that we investigate registering the club as a Federal non-profit organization.  He agreed to look into what it would take and cost to register us with the IRS.  All members present approved his motion.

Glenn Darce moved that we start having a raffle at each meeting to encourage members to attend our monthly meetings.  He asked that members donate any item they don’t need any longer that we can raffle off.  The profits will be used to buy door prizes for our fly ins or other things for the club.  All members present approved his motion.

Glenn asked us to donate something of value that we can raffle off.  He will coordinate this effort.

Mickey Genre informed us that the CAP cadets have purchased several electric R/C planes.  He suggested that if someone was interested, they might offer assistance in learning how to fly.  This might get some young people interested and join the club.

Blackie said that our lawnmower situation is not good.  He asked how much the club might be willing to spend to buy a new mower.  This initiated an open discussion that concluded with Bob appointing a study committee made up of Blackie, Glenn Darce, Marvin, and Willard.  They will look at what is available and what the cost might be for a replacement mower.  They will report back their findings and recommendations at a later meeting.

A motion was made and seconded to adjourn at 7:55 PM.
